Wadestown Children's Bedrooms
Wadestown children’s BEDROOMS
This Wadestown project, in which CMID designed bedrooms for three young siblings, allowed our studio to use expressive colours to individualise each room while not overwhelming them.
We did so by designing a half-height colour profile encircling the rooms, drawing on the precision artisanship of Wellington’s Hammond Decorators. To unify the design, we matched the drapes to the walls.
Due to room size constraints, storage took on greater meaning in this project. To meet the storage challenge, CMID paired specific built-in units and colourful freestanding lockers. The lockers durability and trim relief also made them an excellent choice.
The three spaces were the same shape and lined up in a row, dorm-like. This allowed CMID to repeat design ideas for each room, but by using different colour palettes give them their own identity.
CMID take great pleasure working on kids bedrooms – their own little sanctuary within a home – and this project was no exception.
