Herd Street Office

In partnership with her architect sister, Amelia Minty, Charlotte developed this Wellington office located in the Herd Street building overlooking the marina.

The brief was to turn the space into a versatile modern office, absent the traditional trappings of corporate life. In short, an office with the comforts of home.

A meeting room doubles as a sleeping space courtesy of a hidden drop-down bed. The kitchen and bathroom are more residential than corporate looking.

Personal touches were installed around the office to illustrate the clients’ character and personality. One client is a deep sea diver so his underwater finds populate the new office: portholes adorn the walls, a partial propeller greets guests on arrival and ship's windows transformed into bathroom mirrors.

This project took ten months start to finish. The work was awarded the 2018 Resene Total Colour Awards - Winner Neutrals. The awards citation said:

“An instant favourite, this neutral palette draws you in and makes you feel at home. The neutral hues wrap empathetically over the industrial architecture for a commercial space that feels domesticated and restful, without the normal stress of a busy office. Beautifully finished, this project captures the power of neutrals.”
