Crofton Downs Kitchen

Crofton downs kitchen

This kitchen renovation resulted in a marked change to how this mid-century house looks and functions.

We began by doing away with a wall that sealed the kitchen off from the rest of the house. This resulted in a seamless syncing of the kitchen with the dining area. It also meant more natural light could be invited into the home. Overall, we established greater cohesion in style and utility across the communal part of this Wellington home.

A feature of the new galley kitchen is the warm and inviting timber finish, with the floating cabinetry proving especially eye-catching. Hidden within are fitted and functional inner drawers.

The much-used island operates as a focal point for the space, with its smart recessed handles satisfying the client’s more minimal design appetite.

Tiles of Japanese inspiration are placed throughout the new kitchen offering appealing visuals with their irregular markings and colour movements.

At the drinks station, whimsy and utility unite in the form of a stylish custom-built beer tap - carefully designed and installed at the client’s request.

In developing design solutions for this project, we once more met our clients’ specific needs while investing their personalities and interests in the outcome.
